At Complete Dental CareDr. Jackson Bean and Dr. Kyle Poupart and our dedicated team use dental technology to help maintain oral health and brighten your smile. We invite you to learn more about the advanced technology that powers our practice and provides exceptional dental care for our patients.

3D Imaging CT Machine

One of the many examples of dental technology that we use at Complete Dental Care is our 3D imaging CT machine. This cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) machine provides clear, three-dimensional images of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. One of the advantages of 3D cone beam technology is that it provides our dentist and team with a view of your mouth and supporting structures that is more comprehensive than that provided by digital X-rays. These images help us to diagnose problems more accurately and plan treatments. We may use dental cone beam 3D imaging to:

Plan dental implant placement

Evaluate the jaws and face

View the head and neck as a comprehensive whole

Diagnose tooth decay (cavities) and other dental problems

Detect endodontic problems and plan root canal therapy

Analyze dental and facial trauma

Plan and evaluate the progress of orthodontic treatment

Visualize abnormal teeth

Assess a TMJ disorder

Air Abrasion

Air abrasion is a type of dental technology used to remove decay from your teeth. This conservative treatment option is often used as an alternative to drilling and can be used on children and adults. Instead of spinning drill elements, micro air abrasion uses a concentrated blast of air that contains very fine particles of aluminum oxide, a common ingredient in many toothpastes. Working in a method similar to a sandblaster, air abrasion blasts away the decay and leaves healthy tooth material intact. This process results in greater conservation of your natural tooth structure, helping keep your tooth healthy and strong. Because micro air abrasion uses a simple spray of air and powder, it is minimally invasive, gentle, quiet and fast.

Our patients find micro air abrasion to be much more comfortable and pleasant than traditional drilling, as it eliminates the noise, smells and vibration typically associated with using a dental drill. And perhaps the best part of all is that we usually do not need to use anesthetic, so you have no need to feel nervous about getting a shot.

CariFree®

Have you ever felt like you are “cavity prone”? CariFree® is a system that we use to help prevent and treat cavities. The minerals that make your teeth strong naturally deteriorate over time and use, which results in more cavities and yet another visit to the dental office. This can be frustrating for many, especially those with more sensitive teeth, but CariFree offers a solution: products that replenish the tooth itself by adding essential minerals back! This system uses special toothpaste and rinses that contain fluoride and other ingredients to help reduce the amount of acid in your mouth and promote remineralization.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays emit less radiation than traditional x-rays and provide clear images that we can view instantly on a computer screen. Digital radiography has changed the way we take dental X-rays by making the process faster, more comfortable and more convenient than ever before. Digital X-rays use a digital sensor to take images of your teeth, unlike traditional X-rays that use film. Our dentist can then instantly view the high-quality images on monitors right in the treatment room to provide you with efficient, accurate diagnoses and care. Our team is able to use digital radiography to identify and diagnose several types of dental problems, such as:

Decay in between teeth

Developmental abnormalities

Improper tooth root positioning

Cysts and abscesses

Fractures in existing fillings

Tumors

Infection in the tooth nerves

Bone loss

Diode Laser Treatments

One of the advanced technologies our dentist may use when providing your treatment is a soft tissue laser. Soft tissue lasers allow us to deliver procedures with greater accuracy, providing more effective care and minimizing your recovery time following treatment. Soft tissue lasers are a versatile tool and may be used in a variety of dental procedures, including:

Periodontal treatments, including gingivectomy

Crown lengthening

Frenectomy

Cold and canker sores

Uncovering an impacted tooth

Removing damaged gum tissue

Recontouring the gumline

Lesion removal

Oral tissue biopsies

Some soft tissue lasers may also be used to treat sleep apnea, perform nerve regeneration, aid in dental implant recovery, remove benign tumors and perform teeth whitening treatments.

Using a soft tissue laser provides many benefits. For example, soft tissue lasers allow for better control during the procedure, giving you a more accurate and effective treatment. Lasers also give you a faster treatment time, reduce bleeding and risk of infection following the procedure, and can treat the targeted area without causing damage to any nearby tissue. Soft tissue lasers also enhance your comfort — in fact, you may not even require anesthesia to receive your treatment, though anesthetic and sedation options are available for your use. Additionally, soft tissue lasers are very quiet, emitting only a soft humming sound rather than the loud sounds produced by dental drills and other tools.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a small, handheld camera that we use to get a close-up view of your teeth and gums. This dental technology allows us to detect problems such as tooth decay and gum disease in their early stages. Because the intraoral camera is so small and easily maneuverable, we can use it to see angles in your mouth that we cannot easily view with the unaided eye. We may utilize the intraoral camera to better evaluate your oral health and diagnose dental problems like tooth decay and periodontal disease, as well as tooth damage like a cracked or chipped tooth. The intraoral camera is also useful in following up after a treatment has been completed.

iTero® Digital Scanner

Our office uses iTero® digital scanning to view three-dimensional images of the inside of your mouth. iTero digital imaging is a state-of-the-art technology that captures high-quality images of your teeth and supporting structures, making it easy for our dentist and team to diagnose problems and provide effective treatments. The iTero scanner captures up to 20 images per second in full color, allowing us to easily distinguish between healthy and diseased tissue, build accurate digital models of your mouth, and create appliances and restorations that fit and function better. iTero technology can even simulate your treatment outcome to show you what your result should look like! When our dentist or hygiene team scans your mouth, a small wand will be used to quickly and comfortably scan the inside of your mouth. As the wand passes over your teeth, we will process the images captured simultaneously to provide an immediate, complete, and highly accurate image of your mouth. The pictures are saved automatically every few seconds, so you don’t need to sit through a second scan.

Laser Cavity Detection

Complete Dental Care uses laser cavity detection to help maintain your oral health and detect dental decay in its early stages. This painless system helps us determine the health level of teeth. If a tooth is decayed, the system will alert our team. We are then able to formulate a treatment plan to improve the health of that tooth.

Because the laser cavity detection system can detect tooth decay before it is visible to the naked eye, we are able to treat decay before it becomes more extensive and causes more damage. In fact, the cavity-detecting laser can even identify tooth decay that still lies beneath the tooth surface and may not be detectable with digital X-rays. When the decay is treated early, we are able to provide a more conservative restoration that causes less discomfort, is less expensive and preserves more of your natural tooth structure. Tooth decay may even be reversible if it is detected and treated in the very early stages.

Painless Injections

We offer painless injections using the Wand® STA Single Tooth Anesthesia System. This system numbs your tooth and gums quickly and efficiently so that you can receive the dental care you need without the discomfort
